A 60-year-old man who had been taking antithrombotic drugs for angina pectoris presented to our emergency outpatient clinic with melena. Emergency upper gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed active bleeding from a duodenal diverticulum. Hemostasis was performed using endoscopic electrocoagulation. We summarize 302 cases of hemorrhagic duodenal diverticulum and 194 cases of endoscopic treatment reported in Japan in a literature review.
