With recent advancements in interventional EUS, a new concept called “endo-hepatology” has emerged, leading to the performance of endoscopic procedures using EUS for various liver-related pathological conditions. Compared to traditional endoscopy, EUS-guided treatment using coils and cyanoacrylate for isolated gastric varices offers a safer and more effective approach by enabling precise puncturing, embolic agent delivery within the varices, and real-time confirmation of treatment effects using color Doppler. According to Baveno Ⅶ, the international consensus on portal hypertension, EUS-guided gastric variceal treatment is a future endeavor that can become the standard endoscopic treatment for gastric varices.
