Abstract

Recently, underwater endoscopic procedures, such as underwater EMR and ESD have been increasingly performed. The benefits of underwater conditions include buoyancy and hydrostatic pressure, minimizing bowel distension. These benefits extend to polypectomy using a detachable snare, which contributes to improved procedural efficiency. Compared to conventional non-underwater methods, underwater techniques can reduce procedure time and allow the management of complex cases. Here, we describe polypectomy using a detachable snare for pedunculated colorectal lesions under underwater conditions.
