At the International Nursing Symposium, which was held during the 16th Annual JPCA Conference, nurse practitioners (NPs) working in primary care in Japan and Australia presented their respective practices. In the subsequent panel discussion, the value of NP practice was highlighted, including contributions to chronic disease management, effective care for patients with complex needs, promotion of team-based care, and improvement of nursing quality. The participants identified institutional and regulatory barriers, the need to strengthen educational systems, and the importance of increasing public awareness as essential factors for realizing these benefits. The significance of continued international exchange of knowledge and experience was also reaffirmed.
