Abstract
The concentrations of Rb, Sr, Y, Pb and Th of Japanese Paleozoic slates were determined by means of X-ray fluorescent analysis. Among the analyzed elements, Rb shows a good correlation with K, but other elements do not appear to have clear systemmatic relations with major elements. Local variation in K/Rb ratio was not detected. The average K/Rb ratio is 251.
