Abstract

Although a large amount of boring column data have been accumulated, most of them are not yet opened to the public. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport established the “National Geotechnical Informative Center” and commenced to summarize boring data to the “Geotechnical Information Database” operated by the Center. The purpose of this study is to develop a method of three-dimensional geologic modeling by using this database. We develop a unified management system of the collected boring log data from various sources, which enables to retrieve and download boring log data from the area of interest, and construct three-dimensional geological model using the boring data divided into several lithologic units. Plausible geologic model can be constructed in a short time through this system despite highly-biased density of the boring data distribution. Moreover, the system can reconstruct geologic formation process by piling up strata successively following the stratigraphy.
