Abstract

The writer carried out the geological survey of the area including Taroda and Siraisigawa of Tyozya-mura, Go-no-tani of Higasitunomura and Otimen of Yusuharamura., An equatorial belt of the Titibu group in the Kamo facies narrows westerly within the area till at length it tails out., (See Geological Map in Japanese Text., ) The Torinosu Series to the south of the belt belongs to the Togano facies of the writer although conglomeratic layers are more common, and thicker limestone-lenses are aligned in many zones in this area, if compared to the series in the Togano basin which is the type-locality of the facies., One of the results of this survey is the discovery of the fossiliferous limestone bearing Naradani formation which lies beneath the Torinosu Series unconformably., The observations on the complicated zonal structure of the area are described at some length and two possible tectonic interpretations are given in Japanese text., The zonal structure is cut by two groups of faults which run in NNE and NNW directions as in the case of the Togano basin.,
