Abstract
1. Interspecific crosses between C. frutescens and C. annuum were made, and F1 hybrids were obtained when C. frutescens Ac 1443 was used as the female parent (Tab. 1).
2. Morphological characters of the F1 hybrids were compared with those of their parents (Tab. 2 and Fig. 1).
3. Meiotic behavior of the F1 hybrids and somatic chromosome numbers in F2 and BF1 progenies were examined (Tabs. 4, 6 and Fig. 3).
4. It is concluded that the chromosomes (or genomes) of the two species are semi-homologous.
