Abstract
Nuclear DNA content of 41 strains of Triticum monococcum was measured by Feulgen-cytophotometry using pollen tetrads. Strains analyzed in the present study were belonging to both cultivated form, ssp. monococcum (7 strains) and wild form, ssp. boeoticum (8 strains of aegilopoides type and 26 of thaoudar type) collected from whole range of its distribution.
Analysis of variance revealed remarkable uniformity of nuclear DNA content within this species, neither between cultivated and wild forms nor between two types of wild forms.
