Present and Future of Seismic Protection System

Abstract

Recent advances and future prospects in the field of seismic-protection system are reviewed with emphasis on seismic-protection elastomeric isolators and seismic-control system. Some examples of the system behavior at The East Japan Giant Earthquake on March 11, 2011 with magnitude 9.0 were shown and the system worked very effectively at the giant earthquake.
