Abstract

We investigated the effect of deformation of natural rubber (NR) on 13C NMR spectra. The deformation is occurred by the high centrifugal pressure of the fast magic-angle spinning (MAS). The static state 13C NMR spectrum of NR after MAS showed broad and apparently anisotropic peaks, while that of NR before MAS was isotropic. We concluded that the origin of the anisotropic 13C peak relates to the magnetic susceptibility difference according to the molecular orientation.
