Abstract
This report deals with the bent-strip test, so called Bell Laboratory Test, of environmental stress cracking of polyethylene.
By this study, p-nonyl phenyl polyoxyethylene ether, which has nine oxyethylene groups, is selected as the most powerful cracking agent, and the influences of the conditions of preparation of test piece, such as the conditions of milling, of press molding and of annealing, are clarified, and also testing conditions of cracking agent of it′s aqueous solution and the temperature of the solution, are decided.
