Abstract
The roll-blending processibilities and the properties of blends of various rubbers (NR, IR, SBR and BR) and various molecular weight atactic polypropylenes were studied. The blends were cured with sulfur and organic peroxide.
It was found that (1) it is difficult to blend various rubbers (NR, IR, SBR and BR) and atactic polypropylenes by open mill, (2) atactic polypropylene tends to bloom over the surface of vulcanizate, (3) among the physical properties of vulcanizate, linear relationships exist, (4) It is desirable to blend less 25 PHR of atactic polypropylene in order to get a preferable vulcanizate, (5) the difference in the molecular weight of atactic polypropylene does not influence the properties of vulcanizate.
