Abstract
In this research, relations between the shear modulus Gss (measured by SS-type Shear Modulus Tester) and the spring hardness are studied.
Though it is generally said that it is difficult to estimate the modulus of rubber from its hardness, here it was tried to calculate the shear modulus Ge from the spring hardness. Loading systems of these two measuring machines are quite different, but it was clarified that this Ge is almost the sameas the value of Gss.
From the view point of “after effect”, these two ways differ fundamentally, so in order to get the same value we must change the loading time for each specimen. But if it is taken as 1/4 second, the difference is small and allowable in practical usage.
