Abstract
It takes a special breed on EVA to creat new crosslinkable points. Some of the acetoxyl groups, the principal functional groups of native EVA, are converted easily into hydroxyl groups or double bonds by use of reactants. These EVA alone or blended with chloro rubbers or general purpose rubbers, are vulcanized at about 150°C in the presence of isocyanate or sulfur as a vulcanizing agent, whereby a tightly cured polymer are obtained.
Rubber compositions blended with these crosslinkable EVA exhibit high green strength and good processabilities, while producinga rubber product with high ozon resistance and moderate wear characteristics as well as better mechanical strength.
And they astand high loading of ingredients, such as black and white carbons, to yield ing excellent physical properties. So they are suitable for extrusions, calendered sheets and molded articles.
