Abstract

Temperature and time dependence of tensile strength was studied about PVC-Xonotlite mixture system. Tensile tests were done at several temperatures and various rates of strain with five kinds of non-plasticized samples which differ in the content from Xonotlite.
Logarithmic plots of ultimate strength (σf) against filler content (φ) showed that the peak shifted to a high side in the filler content with an increase in the temperature and a decrease in the rate of strain (Rs). Those phenomena suggested an applicability of “time-temperature superposition principle” to the fractural behavior of the PVC-Xonotlite mixture system. And also, stress-strain curves obtained at various temperatures sup-ported it.
Thus, master curves of each sample were made by horizontal shifting of the curves of log σf against Rs at various temperatures. The shift factors obtained from the curves were of the WLF type. The glass transition zone on the curves shifted to the long time-scale with an increase in the filler content. This means that the apparent glass transition temperature shifts to a higher side of temperature at high filler content.
