Abstract
Vinyl monomer was added during the preparation of polyurethane elastomer by the one-shot reaction between hydroxyl-terminated liquid polybutadiene(HTPB) and tolylene diisocyanate (TDI). However, the effect of the addition of vinyl monomer on tensile properties was small compared with that in the case of poly(oxy-propylene glycol)-polyurethane which has been reported in earlier papers.
Then, modifided HTPB was synthesized by the addition reaction of HTPB with carbon tetrachloride. Vinyl monomer-modified polyurethane elastomers derived from carbon tetrachloride-treated HTPB turned out excellent in properties such as tensile properties, hydrolytic resistance and flame retardancy.
