Abstract

Polybismuthiol was prepared by polymerization of bismuthiol which was long used as a vulcanizing agent for halogen-containing rubbers. The polybismuthiol was subjected to use for vulcanization of halogen-containing rubbers and its vulcanizing ability was compared with those of bismuthiol, trithiocyanuric acid and their derivatives. The polybismuthiol was demonstrated to be a good vulcanizing agent in terms of its anti-scorching nature and satisfactory physical property of the vulcanized rubbers.
Furthermore, the polybismuthiol was also an excellent vulcanizing agent for blends of halogen-containing rubbers and diene rubbers.
