Abstract
Arylsulfonamides (ASA), methanesulfonamide (SA-9) and arylamides (AAA) of p-aminodiphenylamine have been prepared as heat stabilizer, and their antioxidation activities for low density polyethylene (LDPE) have been evaluated by TG/DTA curve.
Every ASA, in paticular hologen or methoxy substituted phenyl derivatives and naphthyl derivatives, have showed the high antioxidation activity for LDPE. On the other hand, antioxidation activities of SA-9 and AAA have proved to be poor, indicating that arylsulfonylamide group of ASA is essential for their high antioxidation activities.
The brief mechanism including the formation of benzoquinone diimine has been put forward in favor of such superior performance of ASA in Fig. 6
