Abstract
Blending waste agricultural poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) films with the rubbers, such as natural rubber(NR), ethylene-propylene-diene rubber(EPDM), acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber(NBR), styrenebutadiene rubber(SBR), butadiene rubber (BR) and chloroprene rubber (CR) was investigated for material recycling. The blening of waste agricultural PVC film with NR, which was different from PVC in polarity, was found to be possible with high temperature mixing at 130°C in an internal mixer. Waste agricultural PVC films was able to be blended over 50phr of NBR, and up to 10phr of NR, EPDM, SBR, BR and CR respectively. Epoxidized natural rubber(ENR) worked effectively as a compatibilizer between waste agrricultural PVC film and CR.
