The transition of the secretion pigment in the freshwater pearls

Abstract

The colors of white, orange and purple are generally observed in freshwater pearls, but pearls with dark color also exist.　We observed some nucleated freshwater pearls with various colors including orange and purple. We also considered about a transition in a secretion pigment of freshwater pearls.
