Automatic registration of plural range data sets for 3-D dental cast models

Abstract

For 3-D modeling of dental casts, registration of range data sets scanned from plural directions is very important. In conventional registration methods which use geometrical feature like goniometers, deviations often occur. In this study we developped an automatic registration algorithm which improved ICP argorithm, and higher-precision integration is possible.
