Study on fiber reinforced ceramics (Third report) -Application of fabric fiber reinforcement-

Abstract

In this study, we fabricated fiber reinforced ceramics (FRC). The matrix used was alumina, and the reinforcement which was chosen for this study was Si-Ti-C-O fabric fiber. Then, the FRC was fabricated by lay-up and sintering of preimpregnated green sheets. As a result, the mechanical properties of FRC were more excellent than unreinforced alumina.
