Abstract
Four pure metal powder was individually added a casting investment to decrease the oxigen content in the mold and to prevent blackening of as-cast surface of noble metal alloys. These were reported that blackening of as-cast surface of noble metal alloys using boron or aluminum powder added investment. In this study, Mg(OH)SUB2SUB or Ca(OH)SUB2SUB was individually added to a casting investment to have a basic property at casting temperature. It was found that blackening of as-cast surface of a Ag-Pd-Cu-Au alloy was prevented. And there was not between the Mg(OH)SUB2SUB and Ca(OH)SUB2SUB addition.
