Abstract

This study was performed to examine the influence of brushing force and dentifrice on the toothbrush abrasion of human teeth.Abrasion of human enamel and dentin after applying various degree of brushing force (100-500g) was measured using a toothbrush machine. Enamel and dentin wear increased with increasing load over the range of 100 to 500g, however, no significant difference in tooth wear could be attributed to the brushing force.
