Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate intracoronal bleaching ability of the new bleaching agent with titanium dioxide and 3.5 % hydrogen peroxide. Thirty fresh bovine incisors was used. All teeth were stained from the pulp chamber with fresh horse blood for 7 days until adequate discoloration was achieved. The bleaching agent with titanium dioxide and 3.5 % hydrogen peroxide was applied to the cavity and irradiated for 10 minutes using high power halogen lamp or 405-nm diode laser. After the irradiation, we assessed the effects of the intracoronal bleaching by measuring the color of the specimens. Color difference showed a high score in both groups with no significant between them. Therefore, the use of the 405nm diode laser or halogen lamp in combination with a bleaching agent of titanium dioxide and 3.5% hydrogen peroxide may be an effective bleaching method for non-vital discoloration teeth.
