Abstract
The purpose of this study was to estimate the wear resistance (WR) of the resin coating material using a toothbrush abrasion test. From SEM observation the film thickness was found to be about six micrometers and its surface was very smooth. The WR of HB demonstrated 100% for control group. This result indicates that dentin was protected perfectly by the thin-film of HB. However in the presence of toothpaste, the amount of protected dentin decreased with increasing toothbrush strokes. It was concluded that HB had highly WR to toothbrush abrasion without toothpaste. Toothpaste remarkably wore the coating film on the dentin surface.
