Abstract
The purposes of this study were to investigate the effects of wave length and strength of the curing light source on the marginal adaptation between the cavity wall and the composite resin adhered by the all-in-one bonding system.
Facial surface of the bovine incisor was ground with wet SiC paper to prepare the flat surface on dentin and then a cylindrical cavity(diameter:3mm,depth:1.5mm)was prepared.The bonding agents were cured by halogen lamp curing light source irrespective of the systems.And then the composite resin was filled in the cavity and cured by halogen lamp or xenon lamp curing light source.After 10 minutes'storage in water,the facial surface was ground with wet SiC paper and polished with alumina.The marginal adaptation was determined by measuring the contraction gaps between the cavity wall and the cured composite resin using the optical microscope.
When all-in-one bonding systems were employed for bonding of composite resin,the curing light unit using halogen lamp was more effective to decrease the formation of gap than that using xenon lamp.The source of light,the irradiation method,the method of filling procedures and the use of low viscosity composite resin should be taken into consideration when composite resin restoration is performed.
