Revision of the Criteria for Interpreting Chest X-ray Findings in Mass Screening for Lung Cancer (2): Categories B, C and D

Abstract

The criteria for interpreting chest X-ray findings in lung cancer screening have been described in the "Guidelines for Lung Cancer Mass Screening" and "General Rules for Clinical and Pathological Recording of Lung Cancer" in Japan. Recently, a revised version of these criteria was published on the website of The Japan Lung Cancer Society; however, they are not sufficiently well known throughout the country. In this article, we describe the background and aim of the revised criteria, particularly Categories B, C and D.
