Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare the motion of overhand throwing (OT) and sidehand throwing (ST) of the primary school dodgeball players based on the kinematic and kinetic analysis. Eight male primary school dodgeball players (4 with OT style, 4 with ST style) were used as subjects for this study. Vicon three-dimensional motion analysis system (10 cameras, 250Hz) was used to record the throwing motion. Although there were significant differences in angle changes of the throwing arm joints, the rotations of the hip and the upper trunk and the ball speed were almost same. However, it was clear that the peak values of the elbow varus torque and the shoulder internal rotation for OT was equal to the throwing motion of baseball pitcher, and was larger than those for ST.
