Abstract
The purpose of this study is 1) to clarify the expected personalities of female business persons in global societies, and 2) to consider the ways of training or enhancing them through the curriculum of a women’s university in Japan. We interviewed with personnel managers of about thirty companies, in order to extract desirable personalities of female workers. Then we sorted out the selected personal characters and constructed three types of personae, imaginary female students who are most likely to be employed by three types of business world.Through the formation of these personae, we found that the most valuable characteristics that are common to all kinds of companies are: 1) being accommodative, 2) being cooperative, and 3) being independent. This means that when we consider the university curriculum of carrier education, the training of these three personal qualities should be in particular taken into consideration.
