Wu Changshuo (1844-1927) is called “The last literati in China”. As the traditional Chinese literati, he was able to write poems, paint painting, produce calligraphies and seal engravings. He interacted with a lot of Japanese personages. This material is the chronology of those communications. It could show us the important aspect of the cultural exchange between Japan and China.
Further, this chronology was included in my article, “Wu Changshuo and The Japanese Cultural World” Journal of Shoron #37 (2011), as “The Draft of The Chronology of Relationship between Wu Changshuo and The Japanese Literati” ; I corrected it and added some complements by my latest findings this time.
