Abstract
This study suggests that the Japanese population of Woodsia intermedia is a hybrid origin of W. macorchlaena and W. polystichoides, based on phylogenetic analyses of plastid rbcL and nuclear pgiC genes. The maternal parent of W. intermedia was inferred to be W. polystichoides.
