Development of an advanced human-machine system to enhance the operating availability of nuclear power plants

Abstract

To improve the usability of plant operation systems without decreasing plant safety and reliability, we need an advanced human-machine system that is easy to use and highly tolerant of human errors. Our goal is to upgrade basic functions of human-machine systems in the plant-operation through the use of advanced human interface techniques. This paper describes an outline of that project.
