Development of Micro X-ray Irradiation System for Single Cell Irradiation

Abstract

  Microbeam irradiation technique has been used in a wide range of applications. Microbeams of ions or X-rays are useful to investigate biological radiation effects in each individual cells. In this paper, a tabletop X-ray microbeam system with a 50 kV micro focus X-ray tube and a glass capillary for the beam focusing has been developed to investigate the radiation effects on the microscopic cellular systems.
