High-rate position detectors at K1.8 beam line in J-PARC Hadron Hall

Abstract

  1mm anode spacing MWPC’s and 3mm anode-anode spacing MWDC’s were developed for the K1.8 beam line tracking detectors in J-PARC Hadron Facility. These detectors can measure beam trajectories with the accuracy of 0.2mm in RMS under the counting rates of~10MHz. The detectors and their readout system are described. The results of the first beam commissioning in 2009 are also reported.
