The status of a two-dimensional photon-counting detector based on a Micro Pixel Gas Chamber (μPIC) and the application to both time resolved X-ray diffraction measurement and high-resolution Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS) are reported. The μPIC is a micro-pattern gaseous detector fabricated with printed circuit board technology. At first, we mention about the fundamental performance of the μPIC as an time resolved X-ray imaging detector, and then the performance of the μPIC in SAXS experiments under the high counting rate in SPring-8 is described.
