Abstract
For equipment and pipes operated under coal slurry, many papers about the material evaluation have been reported. In comparison with the petrochemical plant, material selection considering to the severer conditions is required. In the previous papers, the material evaluation results have been reported in coal liquefaction unit of 150t/d Bituminous coal liquefaction pilot plant (herein after PP). In consideration of the studying properties of PP, the materials have been selected for the design of PP Through this inspection, it was confirmed that the material selection was, basically, suitable for PP. In this paper, for the minimizing the troubles based on the damage of materials, material selection guide was suggested from the viewpoint in the practical use of coal liquefaction commercial plant. Basically, the suitable materials are selected, and it is necessary to discuss the several treatment such as heat treatment, protection treatment at the shutdown period of plant, the restriction of velocity of fluid and the addition of corrosion inhibitor.
