Albino Elaphe climacophora Occurring in Southwestern Kanto

Abstract

Four albino Elaphe climacophora were collected in a small area straddling the border between Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefecture. All were juveniles. Two were raised to maturity in captivity, and have bred successfully three times. Destruction of the environment endangering the herpetofauna in the area is discussed.
