Abstract
It is considered that students with disabilities can interact with various people and environments through trip and stay in their lives after graduating from school as an important way of participating in society. This study examined the aspects in which users from special needs schools for students with physical disabilities participate in residential trip events of facilities for life nursing care, the effects of the events, their relationship with special needs schools for students with physical disabilities and their families. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with staff of facilities for life nursing care and analyzed with reference to Modified Grounded Theory Approach, and 11 categories and 26 concepts were generated. The significance of people with physical disabilities participating in residential trip events of facilities for life nursing care and the various effects of the events were confirmed. In addition, regarding their relationship with the schools and families, the importance of accumulating experiences and sharing information that leads to smooth participation in events was shown. It is desirable that facilities for life nursing care, schools, and families for people with disabilities deepen their mutual relationship and promote social participation by holding residential trip events.
