Abstract
It is necessary to discuss product innovation management.by taking lifecycle of product or business into consideration In P2M association, a program architecture based on 3S model is proposed. From this view point, it is natural to apply P2M concept to resolve the product innovation management issues. Most previous discussions of the product innovation management in P2M association show the importance of “system model”. Most Japanese production industries constructed on their own development system for product innovation through the economic growth. Of course, past generation created such system with much trial & error. However, it is difficult to compare the speed of economic environmental change between past generation and current one, so that most Japanese production industries tend not to change their system. Therefore, current system is not well adopted to recent drastic change economic environment. To continue the businesses, development systems for product innovation should be changed according to environmental change. In this paper, the author proposes the framework for product innovation through 3S model. and this framework will be explained with Honda’s case history.
