Abstract

Inhalation therapy for asthma, bronchitis and recently flu has received attention as one of simple and effective methods how the hospital and the pharmacy can be cooperated. Current inhalation therapy has been carried out with paper sheet called “hospital-pharmacy cooperation tool” that consists of a form of the therapy request sheet from the hospital-to-pharmacy and a form of the therapy report from the pharmacy-to-hospital. Doctor fills the patient information required for the inhalation therapy in the request sheet, and the patient brings the request sheet to the dispensing pharmacy. In turn, pharmacist fills feedback information to the doctor in the report sheet after the inhalation therapy, and faxes the report sheet to the hospital. However, medical treatment fee is too low for a lot of time and care, which is one of cause of limited use. Additionally, the request and report sheets as documentary evidence possibly develops mismanagement such as unfilled and lost medication history. Further, paper restricts much inhalation therapy data analysis by computer. In this research, an electronic system for the inhalation therapy is prototyped with web applications on smart devises of the doctor and pharmacist, which are connected through Internet cloud. The request and report sheet are created on the cloud server through the devices, so that patient does not need to brings the request sheet to the pharmacy and the pharmacist dose not need to fax the report sheet to the doctor, anymore. The doctor checks the report sheet on the cloud database and possibly improves medical treatment and prescription, in follow-up examination.
