Abstract

Improving the energy efficiency of air conditioning in data centers, which accounts for about 20% of the total power consumption of ICT equipment, is an important issue in the SDG goals. However, current temperature monitoring solutions are unable to observe the spots where heat accumulates in the space, resulting in power inefficient cooling. To solve this problem, we measured the spatial temperature distribution in the machine room of a telecommunication company using a mobile robot equipped with a temperature sensor. As a result, we achieved to visualize differences in the temperature at each spatial point in the aisle.
