We investigated the possibility of eye blink detection for one person using acceleration sensors fixed on a diving mask. It was found that the two accelerations measured on the upper and lower parts of the mask skirt were changed inversely during voluntary blinking. Then, we calculated the correlation coefficient of these accelerations, and the eye blinks could be detected with over 80% accuracy.
