Abstract
This study addressed the spectral effects of blue lighting on facial recognition by conducting a field test. The study used photographs of 21 architectural students as stimuli and 28 architectural students as subjects. Each of the photographs was placed at a distance of 20m from each subject. The subject was asked to walk towards the photograph until he or she correctly recognized the face of the photograph. The results of this study suggested that blue lighting does not have any advantages over conventional fluorescent lighting within the contexts of this study.
