Abstract
Recently, the 3D measurement system which can obtain range image sequences of dynamic scene is developed. These range image sequences can be used for 3D animation, motion analysis of human body and so on. It, however, is difficult that movement information extracts from range image sequence itself. Therefore, range flow which is 3D velocity vector between successive range images is needed.
In former range flow estimation, a constraint equation is constructed from depth value of range image as feature information. By append constraint that based on some assumption, range flow is calculated. Thus, these method have some problem which is that target movement is limited and / or computational time is increased. In this paper, principle curvatures that are independent from target rigid motion are used as additional constraint. Thereby, three constraint equations can be constructed, and high speed range flow estimation is accomplished without physical ambiguity and iterative calculation. The availability of this estimation method was evaluated by experiments for simulated and real scene.
