Abstract
This paper describes the method to simulate and visualize dyeing based on weave patterns, the physical factors of threads and dye. We use a Fick's second law for diffusion. We calculate the diffusion coefficient by the porosity, tortuosity and so on based on physical chemistry of dyeing. We describe the cloth model as the 2-layered cellular model. We apply the traditional adsorption isotherms to calculate dye adsorption to fibers. Also our model includes a simple dyeing technique to make dyeing patterns by interrupting diffusion. We can see our method can capture many of the characteristics of dyeing from our result images.
