Abstract
The use of the Internet for information gathering, including web browsing and social media, has become a common practice, and there has been a corresponding increase in demand for recommender systems to support such activity. In our previous research, we developed a system that aids in collecting tourism-related information by employing the user's gaze information during web searches to suggest search tourism-related keywords reflecting the user's interests.
This is achieved by capturing the text displayed at the user’s gazing point on the screen. In the present study, we refined a methodology to determine the gazing point on a screen. We also developed a new system, built upon the preceding one, to enhance the precision of personalization and to acquire image data. This modified system is detailed in this paper.
