Environmental assessment of old and new product

Abstract

It introduces the case where environmental impacts of the old and new product are compared by LCA in the new product development of the switchgear and control gear. It started the new product development of the switchgear and control gear for several years, and the prospect of a high density mounting and reduction attached. Then, LCA of the old and new product was evaluated and the effect was confirmed. The stage from which the difference was different, and it became reference of the development in the future. It turned out that the influence of the material manufacturing stage might be large when thinking about the entire life cycle though it paid attention only to the use stage so far.
