Development of LCA database based on 2005 input-output tables for Japan and its application to environmental management

Abstract

LCA database has been developed based on 2005 input-output tables for Japan. By using this database several impact categories, including global warming, air pollution and resource consumption can be calculated. Consideration of various impact categories makes it possible to evaluate the total environmental impacts by using the life cycle impact assessment method. In this presentation, features of the database, hybrid analysis method, several applications and database management in Toshiba corporation will be described.
